Description
La Liqueur de Monin Triple Sec Curacao is an orange liqueur from Monin, the French house from Bourges that supplies the bar trade. Built on sweet and bitter orange peel macerates at a high 38% in the 700ml bottle, it is a drier, stronger reading of the style than the brand's lower proof fruit liqueurs, the higher strength giving it a cleaner, sharper structure.
The nose is pure orange peel, citrus fresh with a slight bitterness and a subtle sweetness, the palate strong, aromatic and balanced with intense orange fruit, a fine tartness and a fresh spice, the finish long, dry and citrusy with a clean alcohol structure. As a workhorse triple sec it brings bright orange aromatics and a dry bittersweet lift rather than heavy sugar, which is exactly what tightens a Margarita, a Cosmopolitan, a Sidecar or a White Lady. It also sharpens a spritz or a citrus long drink with soda or tonic.
