Kujira 15 Years Old is a single grain whisky distilled from rice by Kumesen Distillery Co., Ltd. on Kumejima island in Okinawa Prefecture. The awamori heritage of the house infuses its whisky-making with a distinctive approach to rice fermentation, and fifteen years in the island's subtropical climate represents a meaningful stretch of maturation in these conditions, released at 43% for Europe.

The cask record points to Ex-Bourbon maturation, and with the Okinawan heat driving a faster colour and flavour uptake than cooler regions allow, the extended time produces the mellowed vanilla, light tropical fruit and gentle honeyed cereal that are typical of longer Kumesen expressions in bourbon wood. Without a detailed flavour profile on record for this bottling, the character follows the established house direction: soft, warm-climate sweetness and the understated grain backbone that makes Kujira a distinctive voice from Japan's southernmost distillery.
