Kingsbarns Distillery Reserve 2021

The Distillery Reserve 2021 is a Limited Release from Kingsbarns, matured in ex-Bourbon and bottled undiluted, a hand-selected expression sold largely at the distillery. Kingsbarns is a Lowland distillery in the East Neuk of Fife, founded by the Wemyss family in 2014, with Isabella Wemyss selecting the casks.

In its restored steading near St Andrews, Kingsbarns runs long-necked stills for a light, fruity, unpeated spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks, the wood frames the young malt.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 61.8%. Vanillin from the ex-Bourbon reads as vanilla, oak lactones as coconut. The recorded notes run to cooked fruit, dried fruit, fresh fruit, honey and vanilla. A hand-selected distillery reserve.
