Kingsbarns Family Reserve

Family Reserve is a Kingsbarns expression matured in ex-Bourbon and red wine casks at full strength, a 3 year old nodding to the Wemyss family behind the distillery. An outturn of 3,000 bottles. Kingsbarns is a Fife Lowland distillery in the East Neuk, founded by the family in 2014.

From its restored Fife steading near St Andrews, the distillery makes a light, fruity, unpeated spirit on long-necked stills. Matured in ex-Bourbon and red wine casks, the two woods give vanilla and a soft berry lift.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.2%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, while the red wine cask adds a light berry sweetness. The recorded notes run to a fragrant lift, a hay-like note, honey and a malt extract edge. A young family-themed Fife malt.
