Description
This 35 Years Old was distilled in 1969 and bottled by Signatory for its Cask Strength Collection in 2005, drawn from single cask 301446 with an outturn of 219 bottles for the USA. Kinclaith was a Glasgow Lowland malt, raised in 1957 inside the Strathclyde grain plant and removed in 1975.
Glasgow's last malt distillery ran a single pair of pot stills, its spirit made for Long John blends and almost never bottled alone. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask across thirty-five years, the wood deepened this scarce old malt at full strength.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 51.3%. The ex-Bourbon lends vanilla through vanillin and coconut through oak lactones, maltol a toffee note, the full strength lifting a waxy, aged depth. A cask strength bottling of a lost Glasgow distillery.
