Description
This 26 Years Old was distilled in 1967 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range in 1993, a year on from its 25 year old sibling. Kinclaith was a Lowland malt inside the Strathclyde grain complex in Glasgow, built in 1957 and dismantled in 1975, its single malt never officially bottled.
The city's only malt distillery ran a single pair of pot stills among the grain plant, its make destined for Long John blends. Matured in ex-Bourbon across twenty-six years, the wood deepened this rare Lowland malt.
Bottled at 40%. From the ex-Bourbon come vanilla and coconut, its vanillin and oak lactones, with a maltol toffee edge over an aged, waxy character. A Connoisseurs Choice bottling of a long-lost Glasgow distillery.
