Description
This 24 Years Old was distilled in 1967 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range in 1991, the earliest of several 1967 vintages the firm released. Kinclaith was a Glasgow Lowland malt, set up in 1957 inside the Strathclyde grain complex and torn out in 1975.
The lone malt distillery in Glasgow worked a single pair of pot stills, its output bound for Long John blends. Matured in ex-Bourbon across twenty-four years, the wood frames this scarce old malt.
Bottled at 40%. The ex-Bourbon cask lends vanilla and coconut through its vanillin and oak lactones, with a toffee note over a waxy, aged depth. A Connoisseurs Choice release of a vanished Glasgow malt.
