Kill Devil is the rum arm of Scotch house Hunter Laing, and this Navy Style marries pot-still rum from Jamaica and Guyana at a robust 57 percent. It sits in the whisky-bottler tradition of natural, unfussy releases, here built for strength and depth rather than polish.

The Guyana share brings dark, woody weight with molasses, dark chocolate and coffee, while the Jamaican component adds a restrained, ester-tinged fruitiness rather than full funk. Spice and roast carry through to a bitter, malty, cocoa-edged finish, and the proof stays surprisingly well integrated.
