Kilda Erdbeere is a strawberry cream liqueur from Spain, made by Teicheneé Liquors and bottled at 17%. Unlike most cream liqueurs it is built on tequila rather than whiskey, folding the agave spirit into a dairy cream emulsion alongside ripe strawberry, so it pours soft and creamy while carrying a distinct distilled agave edge. The fruit and the agave base are the whole idea, setting it apart from the more familiar Irish style cream on a back bar.

The nose is intense with ripe strawberry, milk cream and that thread of distilled agave, the palate creamy, sweetish and full of strawberry, closing long and soft. Behind the bar it works as a body and dessert ingredient, adding dairy richness, strawberry fruit and sweetness in one pour, which suits a strawberry colada, a creamy tequila based dessert cocktail or a float over ice cream. Serve it well chilled or over ice to show the texture. As a dairy product it has a finite life once opened, so keep it cold and use it reasonably fresh.
