Velvety and full-bodied, with juniper, citrus and a faint earthiness running underneath. The trick is the base: distilled from potatoes rather than grain, then run three times through the still for an unusually creamy texture. Floral, gently spiced and soft as silk on ice.

Description
Most gin starts from grain; Kartoff starts from the potato, distilled at Horvath's Spezereyen Kontor in Austria and run three times through the still. That choice is what you taste before any botanical arrives: a rounder, creamier spirit with a velvety weight grain rarely manages. Onto that base goes a balanced bill of juniper, citrus and quiet spice, the earthiness of the potato lending depth rather than weight.
The nose is fine juniper and fresh citrus over a gentle spiciness and that subtle earthy note. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, juniper and fresh herbs meeting pepper and light floral touches on a silky texture, finishing long, dry and elegant with a flick of citrus zest. Pour it over plenty of ice with a premium tonic and a twist of lemon.
