The Distiller's Safe belongs to Jameson's Whiskey Makers Series, a trio of bottlings named for the tools of the Midleton whiskey makers; it takes its title from the brass spirit safe through which the new make is judged. Single pot still and grain whiskey, distilled at Midleton in East Cork, are triple distilled and unpeated.
Aged in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 43%, it emphasises the lighter, floral side of the house, with green apple, vanilla and a delicate spice over a silky texture. The extra strength lends definition without weight, the orchard fruit and soft grain sweetness of Midleton running to a clean, fragrant finish.
