This is the 2017 St. Patrick's Day Jameson, bottled by Irish Distillers for the Irish market. The liquid is the standard blend of single pot still and grain whiskey from Midleton in East Cork, triple distilled and unpeated, given a seasonal dress for the national day.
Matured in ex-bourbon barrels, it offers vanilla, light toffee and a wash of green apple over the creamy house texture. Bottled at 40%, it drinks smooth and easy, the gentle grain sweetness and mild spice of the Cork style making it a familiar pour for the occasion.
