Description
The 2016 St. Patrick's Day Jameson, a limited seasonal edition from Irish Distillers bottled for an event. Unlike the plain releases it leans on a richer cask selection, joining single pot still and grain whiskey from Midleton in East Cork, triple distilled and unpeated.
Maturation uses first fill bourbon and sherry casks, the fresh bourbon oak giving vanilla and toffee while the sherry adds dried fruit and a nutty warmth. At 40% it drinks smooth and rounded, the orchard fruit and gentle spice of the Midleton house style carried to a lightly sherried finish.
