This is the 2014 St. Patrick's Day release of Jameson, an annual seasonal bottling of the flagship blend from Irish Distillers. Single pot still and grain whiskey, distilled and triple distilled at Midleton in East Cork, carry the usual unpeated, orchard led house character under a commemorative label.
Ex-bourbon barrels do the maturing, lending vanilla, light toffee and a soft cereal note to the fruit driven spirit. Bottled at 40% for a smooth, approachable pour, it shows the gentle grain sweetness and creamy texture that make Jameson the everyday face of Cork whiskey. Released for the European market.
