A 2013 St. Patrick's Day release of Jameson from Irish Distillers, the standard blend of single pot still and grain whiskey distilled at Midleton in East Cork. Triple distilled and unpeated, it wears a seasonal label over the recipe that fills the everyday bottle.
Ex-bourbon oak does the maturing, drawing out vanilla, soft toffee and green apple with a faint mineral edge beneath. At 40% the texture is silky and light, the grain sweetness and mild spice of the Midleton style making it a gentle, sociable pour for the day. Bottled for Europe.
