Jameson Select Reserve is a small batch expression of the global blend from Irish Distillers, marrying single pot still and grain whiskey distilled at Midleton in East Cork. Triple distilled and unpeated, it sits a step above the standard bottling, drawn from a tighter selection of casks and released in 2013 for the European market.
Maturation runs on ex-bourbon barrels with an Oloroso sherry component, layering vanilla and toasted oak over softer dried fruit and baking spice. At 40% the texture stays silky and approachable, the orchard fruit and gentle grain sweetness that define the Midleton profile carried through to a warm, lightly sherried finish.
