Jameson Gara Guzu Brewery Edition is a 2022 collaboration with a Turkish brewery, a blend of single pot still and grain whiskey triple distilled at the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork. It extends the distillery's beer barrel experiments to a new market, pairing the smooth Jameson blend with a local brewer's casks.
Finished in IPA barrels, the whiskey gains a hoppy, citric brightness and a faintly vegetal, herbal edge over the vanilla and orchard fruit of the ex-bourbon base, with a thread of cocoa running through. Bottled at 40% in a run of 23,000 for the Turkish market, it keeps the unpeated Midleton character while leaning into the fresh, aromatic side of the beer cask idea.
