Description
Jameson Crested Black Ball is a 2020 limited edition built on the sherry accented Crested blend, made in collaboration with the Eight Degrees Brewing company. A blend of single pot still and grain whiskey from the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork, it takes the fuller, pot still forward Crested style as its starting point.
After ex-bourbon maturation the whiskey was finished in barrels that had held Black Ball Metric Stout, adding cocoa, coffee and a dark roasted seam to the honeyed orchard fruit and gentle spice of the base. Bottled at 40% in a run of 10,000 for the Irish market, it pairs the traditional Crested character with the brewery led edge of the wider Caskmates idea.
