Description
Jameson Crested Original Gravity is a 2022 limited edition made with the Eight Degrees Brewing company, built on the sherry accented Crested blend of single pot still and grain whiskey from the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork. It continues the distillery's run of brewery collaborations, this time reaching for a barleywine rather than a stout or IPA.
The whiskey was finished in Irish oak barrels that had held an Original Gravity barleywine, a rich, high strength ale that leaves behind malty sweetness, dried fruit and a resinous, spicy note. Bottled at a higher 45%, it keeps the honeyed, pot still character of Crested while the barleywine casks add weight and a deeper, more brooding malt influence.
