Description
This litre format Caskmates Stout Edition was bottled for the German market, a Jameson blend of single pot still and grain whiskey triple distilled at Midleton in Co. Cork by Irish Distillers and finished in barrels that had held Irish stout. It carries the recipe that launched the Caskmates series.
The stout casks give the whiskey a clear note of chocolate and coffee with a malty sweetness, layered over the orchard fruit, honey and vanilla of the base blend. Bottled at 40%, it keeps the light, mellow body of standard Jameson while the beer barrel finish adds a darker, cocoa rich depth and a faint hop bitterness on the close.
