Description
A distillery only bottling of Jameson Black Barrel, drawn from a single cask numbered 206649 and hand filled at the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork in 2017. It is a blend of single pot still and grain whiskey, triple distilled by Irish Distillers, matured in the double charred ex-bourbon barrels that define the Black Barrel line.
Bottled at cask strength, 60.2%, without any reduction, it is bold and full bodied, the intensified char giving concentrated vanilla, toffee, dark toasted oak and a peppery pot still spice. Because it comes from one cask filled at the distillery, no two of these bottlings are quite alike, and the high strength rewards a little water to reveal the honeyed fruit underneath.
