Description
This limited 21 Years Old is among the oldest age stated Jameson bottlings, a blend of single pot still and grain whiskey from Midleton in Co. Cork, triple distilled by Irish Distillers. Just 2,301 bottles were filled from the 2021 release, placing it well above the everyday range in both age and strength.
Maturation used ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, with a further three years in ex-bourbon wood, and the long time in oak shows as concentrated dried fruit, sherried richness and vanilla with a deep, resinous old wood note. Bottled at cask strength, 57.2%, it is powerful and full bodied, the pot still spice holding its own against the sweetness. Water coaxes out softer honey and orchard fruit.
