Description
The Jameson 18 Years Old Bow Street Cask Strength is the undiluted expression of Jameson's oldest core age statement, named for the Bow Street distillery in Dublin where John Jameson first distilled in 1780. The liquid itself is made at Midleton in Co. Cork under Irish Distillers, a triple distilled blend of single pot still and grain whiskey held for eighteen years.
This 2023 bottling was matured in ex-bourbon American oak and bottled at 56.5% without reduction, so the concentration is high. Expect layered vanilla and toffee, the baking spice of the pot still component and a resinous old wood depth that comes with the extra years, the higher strength drawing out an oily, coating texture. It was released for the Irish market.
