Description
Released for the year 2000, the Jameson 15 Years Old Millennium Edition is a single pot still whiskey rather than the usual Jameson blend, distilled at Midleton in Co. Cork from a mash of malted and unmalted barley. It was drawn from 1984 spirit and bottled at fifteen years, a snapshot of Midleton pot still from the mid 1980s.
Held in ex-bourbon American oak, it leans on the lighter side of the pot still spectrum, with honey, orchard fruit and citrus over a vanilla sweetness and the faint hay and cereal note of unmalted barley. Triple distilled and bottled at 40%, it shows the silky, unpeated Midleton character in a form aimed at the wider market.
