Jameson 12 Years Old, once sold as the 1780 Special Reserve, is a blend of single pot still and grain whiskey from the Midleton distillery in East Cork, home of Irish Distillers under Pernod Ricard. Triple distillation gives it the lighter, rounder profile that made Jameson the reference point for Irish blends, with the twelve year age adding weight the standard bottling does not carry.

Maturation runs in ex-bourbon American oak, which lends vanilla and a toasted, biscuity malt note alongside the orchard fruit and citrus of the house style. At 40% it stays soft and approachable, the pot still component bringing a gentle baking spice under the fruit. This release was bottled for the European market.
