Description

The Barbados Rum Cask is the first of Isle of Jura's Islanders' Expressions collection, the island malt finished in Barbados rum wood. Jura is the lone distillery on its remote Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 to keep the community alive.

The distillery's light, clean spirit takes a cask finish cleanly. Finished in rum casks, the wood brings molasses sweetness and a soft tropical lift to the malt.

Bottled at 40%. The rum cask gives molasses and a soft banana note from its esters, over the honeyed island core. The recorded notes run to chocolate, dried fruit, fresh fruit, a medicinal edge and tobacco. A rum-finished island malt with unexpected depth.
