Description
The Daily Dram bottled this 29 year old 1992 Isle of Jura for The Nectar of the Daily Drams, matured in ex-Bourbon wood. An outturn of 136 bottles for France, a long-matured release. Jura is the lone distillery on its remote Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 for a light, Highland-style spirit.
The distillery's light, clean spirit rewards nearly three decades in oak. Matured in ex-Bourbon wood, the cask deepens the honeyed malt.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 47.9%. The ex-Bourbon wood gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee. The recorded note is fresh fruit over waxy aged depth. A long-matured independent Jura from a Belgian bottler.
