Isle of Jura 10 Years Old

This 10 year old comes from an old 1980s oval label, distilled around 1980 and bottled at 43%, a touch fuller than the standard forty. A vintage edition of Isle of Jura from the island malt's earlier years.

Jura, the only distillery on its remote Hebridean island, was rebuilt in 1963 for a light, Highland-style spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood rounds a young malt over ten years.

Bottled at 43%. The ex-Bourbon cask lends vanilla through vanillin and coconut through oak lactones. The slightly higher strength gives the honeyed island character a little more body. A vintage 1980s bottling of the island ten.
