Description
Wein- und Sektkellerei Inführ at Klosterneuburg has more than a century of Sekt behind it and a long list of awards. This Cabinet cuvée pairs two grapes closely tied to Austria: Grüner Veltliner, with its lively acidity and faint white pepper, and Welschriesling, which brings floral lift and fruity ease. The base wine comes from sites around Poysdorf in the Weinviertel, one of the country's leading regions for sparkling base wine. The second fermentation follows the Charmat method in pressurised tanks, with careful, gentle handling to keep the varietal aromatics intact. In the Extra Trocken style the wine finishes just off dry, with the fruit set against fresh acidity.
The colour is a light straw yellow with green flecks and a fine, long bead. The nose brings fresh apple and citrus, delicate floral hints and that peppery Grüner signature. The palate is crisp and lively, with clear fruit, structured acidity and a saline, precise finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees. It makes a good aperitif and suits light starters, fish, seafood and fresh salads.
