House of Mc Callum's Mc Explorer line bottles rum from across the world, and this Art of Rum release draws on Mauritian molasses distillate aged around eleven years before a finishing period in a cask that held heavily peated Laphroaig single malt from Islay. It is bottled unsweetened at a full proof 49.5%.
The Islay cask is the headline. Aged Mauritian molasses rum tends to run warm and rounded, and here it is wrapped in the medicinal, smoky character that a Laphroaig cask leaves behind.
