Description
Distillers Cut is the entry point to the Hinch range, a no age statement Irish blend from the young Co. Down distillery founded in 2020 outside Ballynahinch. Like the rest of the early Hinch portfolio it is built on carefully sourced Irish whiskey, malt and grain married and matured in ex-bourbon casks, with this bottling destined for the Polish market.
Ex-bourbon oak does the quiet work here, vanilla, soft toffee and coconut over the fresh green apple and cereal sweetness of the blend. At 40% it is light bodied and clean, made for highballs, ginger ale and unfussy pouring rather than long contemplation, though a honeyed malt note gives it enough character to stand on its own over ice.
