Description
A traditional hierbas liqueur from Tunel on Mallorca, made by Antonio Nadal in the macerated style from selected herbs and spices, anise and Mediterranean herbs forming the backbone of the style. Secas marks the dry, less sweet and stronger expression within the hierbas range, and at 40% this is one of the more intense Mallorcan hierbas, which makes it the most spirit forward and structured of the family for a back bar.
The nose is intensely herbal with aniseed, fennel and Mediterranean spices, the palate dry and spicy with a clear herbal structure and subtle sweetness, finishing long, aromatic and pleasantly spicy. In a drink it brings dry anise, herbal structure and aromatic lift without much sugar, so it suits a herbal cocktail, a dry spritz or a long serve over ice where its strength holds the line, while it is traditionally served chilled or at room temperature as a digestif. It harmonises with Mediterranean cuisine, tapas, grilled fish and hearty meat dishes. Serve well chilled.
