Description
Henkell is one of Europe's best-known sparkling wine houses and part of the Henkell Freixenet group, and this rosé is made in its clear, modern style. The wine is based on a cuvée of selected red grapes and is produced by the Méthode Charmat, the second fermentation running in pressurised tanks to bring out fresh fruit and a delicate bead. After at least six months of maturation the wine finishes as a harmonious, fragrant rosé with an elegant dryness, the dosage set to a dry Brut.
The colour is a delicate salmon pink with a lively, fine bead. The nose brings raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant, with a hint of citrus and a light floral lift. The palate is dry, fresh and balanced, the red fruit set against fine acidity and a creamy bead, with a lingering fruity finish. Serve well chilled at 5 to 7 degrees. It makes a versatile aperitif and suits light starters, fish, white meat and desserts that are not too sweet.
