Description
Henkell is one of Europe's best-known sparkling wine houses, based at Wiesbaden with more than 160 years of history. Henkell Brut is its dry Brut Sekt, made from a carefully composed cuvée of selected white wines that give it fine fruit and a harmonious structure. It is produced by the Méthode Charmat, the second fermentation carried out in pressurised tanks, which gives fine, long-lasting bubbles and a fresh, lively play of aromas. Several months on the fine lees lend it a little more structure and a creamy mousse, and the dosage is set to a dry Brut.
The colour is a light golden yellow with a fine, even bead. The nose brings green apple, pear and citrus, with subtle floral notes and a hint of brioche. The palate is dry, fresh and balanced, the fruit set against fine acidity, the mousse fine and creamy and the finish clean, tangy and lightly saline. Serve well chilled at 5 to 7 degrees. It makes a versatile aperitif and suits light starters, fish, seafood, white meat, salads, sushi and mild cheese.
