Description
Henkell Rosé is the pink expression of the Wiesbaden house, made from a cuvée of selected red grape varieties in the international Henkell style. The second fermentation runs in pressurised tanks by the Charmat method, which preserves the delicate red fruit and gives a fine, lively bead where a longer bottle ageing would build savoury weight instead. The wine spends at least six months developing to build a balanced, softly fruity profile before release, and it is finished just off dry.
The colour is a delicate salmon pink with a fine, even bead. Raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant lead the nose over a subtle citrus edge, and the palate is fresh and fruity with a creamy texture and a clean, gently off-dry finish that carries a hint of berry and floral lightness. Serve at 6 to 8 degrees as an aperitif. It works with light starters, white meat and not too sweet desserts, and suits summer salads, seafood and strawberry puddings.
