A Glendullan of an 11 year old chosen by van Wees, distilled in 2009, from cask 313233, at 55.8%, one of 270 bottles. Glendullan is a fresh, grassy Speyside malt of orchard fruit and a malty sweetness. It was built in 1897 by William Williams and Sons, Aberdeen blenders, the seventh and last distillery raised in Dufftown. Its founder also struck an exclusive supply deal with neighbouring Glenfiddich. It sits on the banks of the River Fiddich, in the heart of Speyside. Its water rises at the Goats Well spring in the Conval Hills above the distillery.

Taken gently through wash and spirit stills, giving a fresh, lightly fruity Speyside spirit. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, oak lactones lending a creamy vanilla. In integration coconut and vanilla knit with the malt, the pear softening towards a creamy honey. First fill wood drives the maturation, the cask clear in the light spirit.

At 55.8%, undiluted, it is rich and fruity. A fresh orchard fruit and a malty sweetness, lifted by a soft oak. The mouthfeel is light and clean, carrying the fruit. The close is light and clean, fruit over a gentle oak. This is a clean, fruity Speyside single malt.
