Description
Double Barrel is Glendalough's entry whiskey, a single grain sourced from an Irish column still and double matured by the Co. Wicklow house that takes its name and imagery from St Kevin's monastic valley. It carries no age statement, relying instead on the two cask regime that names it.
American bourbon barrels lay down toffee, vanilla and coconut before Spanish Oloroso sherry casks add citrus peel, honey, light chocolate and a snap of fresh oak. Grain whiskey's natural softness keeps everything gentle at 42%, a whiskey for highballs, first pours and anyone easing into the Irish shelf.
