Batch 002 continues the Mizunara finished 7 Years Old that has become Glendalough's calling card, sourced Irish single malt taken on by the Co. Wicklow house for a second maturation in Japanese oak. Released for Europe, it follows the first batch of 2022 with the same recipe and small batch scale.
Ex-bourbon maturation gives the honeyed, orchard fruit base typical of Irish malt, and the Mizunara puncheons add their unmistakable perfume, sandalwood, coconut and gentle incense spice. At 46% and with only light colour from the pale Japanese oak, it drinks aromatic and precise, a batch made for comparing against its predecessor.
