An official release of Glen Moray, a 21 year old, at 46.3%. Glen Moray, founded in 1897 in a former brewery, is one of Speyside's best loved malts. It was a pioneer of wine cask finishing, working with Chardonnay casks back in the 1990s.

Distilled from unpeated malt in copper pot stills, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. A Port cask shaped the finish, over the fruity Glen Moray spirit. Into oxidative maturity, slow air ingress builds fruity ethyl esters (apple and pear) and a honeyed depth. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Moray character lead the way. A gentle maturation suits the light make, the orchard fruit growing richer with time. River Lossie water and the tall stills give the light Glen Moray make. Its make is a key malt in the Cutty Sark and Label 5 blends. The light, fruity make takes cask flavour well while keeping its apple and pear.

At an approachable 46.3% it is light and easy. Pear, honey and a soft malt, with red berry, plum and a dry spice from the cask. The texture is light and clean, the fruit lifted by vanilla. It finishes light, fresh and fruity. This is the easy, fruity malt of Elgin.
