Glen Moray from the distillery, a 15 year old, at 40%. Glen Moray is a fruity Speyside malt made on River Lossie water at Elgin. Its light, fresh spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum.

It was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. Finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood building over the fruity, light spirit. Into oxidative maturity, slow air ingress builds fruity ethyl esters (apple and pear) and a honeyed depth. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. Its water is drawn from the River Lossie, which runs past the distillery at Elgin. Most of its malt matures first in American oak ex-Bourbon before any cask finish. It was founded in 1897 in the converted Elgin West Brewery, on the banks of the River Lossie. It runs a large still house at Elgin, expanded over the years to meet demand.

At 40% it is fresh, fruity and clean. Green apple, honey and a gentle oak, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. A baked apple and a gentle spice lift it. The finish is long, fruity and clean. This is a light, fruity Speyside single malt.
