From the bottler Alba Import, a 14 year old Glen Moray, distilled in 2007, bottled at 46%. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from Elgin, known for its light, fruity and accessible style. Its light, fresh spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum.

It was made on River Lossie water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, oak lactones lending vanilla and a little coconut. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into a rounded vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper apple and pear. A gentle maturation suits the light make, the orchard fruit growing richer with time. It has been owned since 2008 by the French house La Martiniquaise. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Glen Moray warehouses at Elgin. The light, fruity make takes cask flavour well while keeping its apple and pear.

At 46% it is light and soft. Baked apple, vanilla and a creamy toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A baked apple and a gentle spice lift it. The finish runs light, fruity and clean. This is a light, fruity Speyside single malt.
