From the bottler Wemyss Malts, a 14 year old Glen Moray, distilled in 2007, bottled at 46%, one of 276 bottles. Glen Moray is a fresh, fruity Speyside malt from the town of Elgin in Moray. Most of its malt matures first in American oak ex-Bourbon before any cask finish.

The spirit was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, building a light, accessible character of orchard fruit and vanilla. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, the oak quiet behind the light spirit. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into a rounded vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper apple and pear. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Glen Moray warehouses at Elgin. Maturation in the bonded warehouses at Elgin is slow and steady. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit.

At 46% it is fresh, fruity and clean. Green apple, vanilla and a soft honey, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Soft orchard fruit and a creamy vanilla sit behind the cask. A long, fruity finish carries a green apple and a soft spice. This is a light, fruity Speyside single malt.
