From the bottler Lady of the Glen, a 12 year old Glen Moray, distilled in 2008, from cask 5586, bottled at 57.1%, one of 214 bottles. Glen Moray is a fresh, fruity Speyside malt from the town of Elgin in Moray. It closed in 1910 and reopened in 1923 under Macdonald and Muir of Glenmorangie.

Made on River Lossie water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a light vanilla and a soft honey. In integration lactones (coconut) and vanillin (vanilla) knit with the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey and toffee. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Moray character lead the way. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Glen Moray warehouses at Elgin. It is known for excellent value, with age statements priced more keenly than most. It was built on Gallow Hill at Elgin, the old site of the town's hangings.

Bottled at a cask strength 57.1%, it is rich. A fresh, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Soft orchard fruit and a creamy vanilla sit behind the cask. Apple, pear and a soft oak see out the finish. This is the easy, fruity malt of Elgin.
