A 25 year old Glen Keith from the bottler Wemyss Malts, distilled in 1996, bottled at 53.6%, one of 492 bottles. Glen Keith is a Speyside single malt made behind Strathisla, mostly for the Chivas blends. Single malt Glen Keith is rare, most of it coming from independent bottlers.

Run through the tall stills on Balloch Hill water for a light make, giving a clean, sweet Speyside spirit. It was matured in an Oloroso cask, the wood working into the light malt. Through the evaporative decades the spirit concentrates, esters folding into mango, beeswax and a soft honey. The light, fruity spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and fruit to the fore. Years in oak round the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey and tropical fruit. Balloch Hill water and the tall stills give the light Glen Keith make. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Keith character lead the way.

At 53.6%, undiluted, it is deep and fruity. A light, orchard fruit and citrus, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. The mouthfeel is light, the fruit carried on a clean body. The finish runs light, fruity and clean. This is Glen Keith's clean, fruity Speyside style.
