A Glen Keith of a 23 year old chosen by the bottler Whisky-Doris, distilled in 1997, from cask 113406, bottled at 50.3%, one of 193 bottles. Glen Keith is a clean, fruity Speyside malt from the town of Keith in Moray. Its tall, narrowing stills give a light, fruity Speyside spirit.

It was drawn off the stills for a clean, fruity Speyside spirit, building a light, fruity character of green apple and pear. A refill bourbon hogshead held it, keeping the fresh, fruity character to the fore. In the oxidative, evaporative years concentration brings tropical fruit, honey and a waxy depth over the apple. The tall, narrowing stills give a light spirit that takes the cask well. It was the first new distillery to open in Speyside since the great whisky crash of 1898. Its first permanent single malt was released in 2017, the Distillery Edition. A gentle maturation suits the light make, the orchard fruit growing richer with time.

At a hearty 50.3% it carries real weight. A fresh, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Beneath it run green apple, pear and a soft vanilla. The close is light and clean, fruit over a gentle oak. This is the light, fresh malt of Keith.
