Citrus and pine open it up before a salt-tinged, herbal heart of rosemary and lavender takes over. The trick is sea salt from Cervia, which lends a faint mineral breeze and sets this Italian gin apart from the herd. Spicy, floral and just a little of the seaside about it.

Description
Gin Primo comes from a small artisanal distillery in northern Italy, where the makers reach for a Mediterranean botanical set and one quiet flourish: sea salt harvested from the salt pans of Cervia on the Adriatic coast. Alongside juniper, lemon peel, rosemary, lavender and coriander, that salt gives the spirit a subtle mineral nuance, a sense of coastal air folded into the glass.
The nose brings fresh citrus, spicy juniper and floral lifts of lavender and rosemary. The palate is elegant and complex, juniper and herbs in balance with a fine saline breeze that sharpens the freshness, and the finish runs long, lightly spiced and faintly mineral. Pour with a good Indian tonic and a twist of lemon, or stir it into a Negroni where the salt note plays beautifully against the bitters.
