Description
Fuji Gotemba 18 Years Old (2016 bottling) is a blended malt whisky from Kirin's Fuji Gotemba distillery in Shizuoka prefecture, bottled in 2016 for the travel retail channel. As a blended malt, it brings together malt whiskies aged at the Fuji Gotemba site, combining Ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry cask maturation over 18 years.
The dual cask programme gives a profile built on chocolate and cooked dark fruit from the Oloroso influence, set against vanilla and lighter creamy notes from the Ex-Bourbon barrels. The declared profile adds a sherried richness that sits well with the lighter, clean grain-forward character the distillery typically achieves. Bottled at 43%, the result balances warmth and accessibility for a travel retail audience.
