Description
Freihof Jagertee The Original is an Austrian tea liqueur made by the Freihof brand of Vorarlberg, which has distilled Alpine specialities since 1885, and is bottled at 40%. Jagertee is an Austrian tradition built from black tea, fine Inlaender rum, fruit brandies and warm spices, and Freihof makes its version to a long standing family recipe, a classic of the Alpine region served through the winter season.
The nose is strong tea with spicy rum, dried fruit and winter spice, the palate full bodied, spicy and harmonious with tea, sugar, rum and fruit in balance, finishing long, warming and aromatic with sweet and spicy nuances. It is built to be diluted with hot water and served hot, the way a warming punch base works, bringing tea depth, rum warmth and baking spice to the glass. It suits cold evenings and goes well with strudel, gingerbread and sweet pastries. Serve it hot and freshly diluted rather than chilled.
