Description
Fratelli Francoli Carissima Limoncello is an Italian lemon liqueur bottled at 30%, made by the Fratelli Francoli distillery from the peel of ten different lemon varieties, most grown on the south coast of Italy. Combining fresh and dried lemon peel with concentrated lemon juice gives it a complex, full bodied flavour, in the traditional limoncello style of macerating peel to draw out the citrus oils. The blend of ten lemon varieties is the defining idea, lending depth beyond a single fruit.
The nose is intense and fresh with sun ripened lemon peel, fine citrus zest and an elegant freshness, the palate full bodied and velvety with juicy lemon, a pleasant sweetness and lively citrus in harmonious balance, finishing fresh, citrus accented, soft and pleasantly long. Behind the bar it brings bright lemon flavour, sweetness and a fresh acidic lift, which suits it to a limoncello spritz, a citrus sour or a sparkling serve. It is traditionally served well chilled or ice cold as a digestif and pairs with Mediterranean desserts such as lemon tart, panna cotta and tiramisu. Keep it cold and serve it very chilled.
