Foursquare Private Cask Selection Hereditas (The Whisky Exchange)

Foursquare Private Cask Selection Hereditas was bottled for The Whisky Exchange from Richard Seale's celebrated Barbados distillery. Foursquare makes its rum strictly without added sugar, colour or flavour, blending double retort pot still with column Coffey distillate, so the depth here is all spirit, oak and cask.

Aged 14 years and matured with a sherry influence before bottling at 56%, it leans dark, dry and spicy: caramel, vanilla, raisin and oak on the nose, then vanilla, raisin and coconut over the wood, finishing dry and oaky. There is a slightly dirty, smoky note of tar and rubber that adds character beyond the usual Foursquare profile. The higher strength and sherry driven darkness give it real presence without any sweetening to soften it. It is a rewarding step up for drinkers who enjoy ECS style Foursquare and want a darker, more intense expression.
